What to expect on arrival:
For your initial consultation, we ask that you arrive 10 minutes in advance to fill out some forms; alternatively, you can download them here to fill out at home and bring with you. Please note that times given here are all approximate, as every patient is an individual, and every condition is different, so every treatment is unique. We therefore make our charges per treatment visit, not per minute.
Chiropractor:
If you are seeing the chiropractor or are coming for physical rehab, you should then allow for up to 80 minutes for the consultation itself. During this time the chiropractor will take a full medical history from you and perform a physical examination; these will be aimed at your general health, as well as your current complaint. The chiropractor will then explain to you what he has found, what it means, and what he suggests we do about it. Treatment will not always be offered on this visit, as we sometimes need further information from your GP; and you may need a little time to consider the information you have been given. If your case has no need for consultation with your GP you may be seen immediately for your first treatment.
If you are not treated on you first visit, your first treatment may take up to 30 minutes, and may involve a review of the information gained from the initial consultation, followed by the relevant treatment (assuming it isn't part of the initial consultation). Please allow approximately 20 minutes for subsequent treatment visits.
Aromatherapist / Massage Therapist:
If you are seeing the Aromatherapist, or coming just for massage, please allow 30 minutes for the consultation.
During a 30 minute session a massage can only cover approximately half of a body (head, neck, shoulders & arms OR low back, buttocks & legs). For a full body massage you'll need a double session.
If you have one of the following conditions, we would need a note from your GP confirming that it is safe for you to receive treatment:
Medicated hypertension
Recent thrombosis/DVT (last 4 months)
Recent phlebitis (inflammation of a vein) (last 4 months)
Severe osteoporosis/osteopenia
Cancer (current)
HIV/AIDS
Cardiac condition (current)
Epilepsy (recent)
Insulin dependant diabetes (until correct insulin level has been reached)
NB. We cannot treat patients with:
Current high fever
Contagious disease/skin condition
Recent operation in the area of treatment
