Different Types of Massage:
Your therapist offers the following treatments: Aromatherapy Massage: When essential oils are applied through massage, they enter directly into the bloodstream and react with the hormones and enzymes in the body in order to bring about chemical changes. An aromatherapy massage has the advantage of being tailored to suit the individual’s needs as everyone is different. Therefore, your therapist will recommend a custom blend just for you. It should be noted that an aromatic massage is a completely different massage type to the others. Swedish Massages: The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. This type of massage helps you de-stress and relax while improving your circulatory, nervous, lymphatic and digestive systems. Pre and Post-Event Sport Massages: Sports Massage is typically used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. Vigorous pre-event massage helps reduce sports-related injuries by warming, stimulating and preparing muscles and joints for increased activity while more restful post-sport techniques relieve sore, overworked muscles.
